so little cobblers..

These things are little bites of heaven. It us phyllo dough put in muffin pans with a spot of butter and baked at 350 to warm up while preparing the filling which is southern cobbler. 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup flour 1 teaspoon of baking powder 1/2 teaspoon of salt about a cup of milk Take fruit, I used blackberries for this, but you can use peaches, blueberries, maybe raspberries and cover with about 1 cup of sugar. It is about 2 - 3 cups or so of fruit that is coated with the sugar. Mix dry ingredients then add milk. Pull muffin pan out of oven that has phyllo dough and butter and put a spoonful or so of cobbler on the dough then top with fruit. Bake until done. 20-40 mins. I do not remember actual baking time.... I cooked til slightly brown.

Fun Paintings

Below are some fun paintings as I like to call them. I just take 140# watercolor paper and gesso it. I divide it into sections with 1" blue tape and end up making 4"x5" paintings. I do it for practice and to try things that I see done that I want to try. They're fun. The beer mugs were not originally going to be beer mugs. I had done some sketching of glasses filled with lemonade. I couldn't see it working in my mind, but I could see beer mugs quite clearly.

A visit to Wilmington

I went to Wilmington on the 8th. On the way up Mom called and said  Raymond had a heart attack. He was in the hospital the whole time I was there and we visited frequently. Right after they determined he had a heart attack they got him taken care of and put a stent in. He spent the rest of the time recovering and being observed. Mom picked him up from the hospital when I was leaving. I am glad I was able to see him while up there, even if it was in the hospital. Since we couldn't stay in the hospital the whole time and I had brought some paintings to show mom, I will show what was left. I brought her some canvas boards about 16 - 9"x12", 6 - 8"x10" and some smaller ones of the 6x6 and 3x4 variety. I also left some MDF for her to paint on. Mom wanted the two paintings above Paige is getting the next one Raymond is using the box for his new set of prescriptions. It will hold the bottles And since Jim and Betsy have always been suppo...

An odd assortment

Just some other random ones I have painted. The one with the houses is painted on a small canvas board that I made

Flowers and a tree

I like the small painting of the flowers. I was trying something on it and I think it turned out nicely. The tree is ok and I am uncertain whether or not I love it.

The evolving coffee cup

I made some canvas boards and on one of the 6"x6" canvas boards I painted a coffee cup on a table and then I painted over it and again and again. Canvas boards that I made. Most were 9"x12". I had some random sizes that I needed to make also. I made 25 of the 9x12. And anyway the coffee cup started as Then I painted over it and over that one and currently I have it as so

...and on my birthday...

I painted this. I also did other things. I am unsure if I think it is completed yet. I spent most of the day messing with it off and on. I had a sketch of what I wanted to do already. I probably sketched the idea a few times. I think the colors are good overall. There is a little blending of colors, meaning that there is not a lot of contract the further from the middle you go. I like it that way, but still not sure if I want to add something, adjust something or what. I did sign it. I am just thinking. Mom says she liked it and thinks it has a good focal point.
